2012 Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby

Our team at Water's Edge Resort is proud to be a “Sockeye” level sponsor of the 2012 Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby! This event, which runs through June, July and August with the finale in September, raises money for the Thornton Creek Hatchery and the Pacific Salmon Foundation.
The derby awards cash and prizes to participants throughout the summer and the anglers who catch the top fifteen fish each month qualify for the “Fish Off” September 7th and 8th, where they are eligible for $60,000 in prizes. The organizers have gathered up a terrific variety of prizes including fishing packages, gear and services and the community has been very supportive of this event.
The Thornton Creek Hatchery is a key resource for the protection and enhancement of local Chinook, coho and chum salmon and each year releases hundreds of thousands of fish into the waters in our area. Learn more about the Hatchery here.
